Training -

Initially MBUP provided training in the areas such as 1) Operating the SHGs, 2) Accounts keeping 3) Conducting meetings 4) Significance of attendance. The discipline in the financial matters and the operating aspects was inculcated. That is the reason why our repayment success rate is 99.99% and there is hardly any cases of bad debt. The financial governance and ethical operations are the pillars on which this success of these SHGs stands today.
Apart from these training programs we also conducted trainings related to personality development for women. Programs related to health, Family planning, self awareness, professionalism were conducted. They were also taken for visits to professionally managed organizations and SHGs formed by other successful NGOs.
In health related education they were made aware of importance of family planning, blood tests, and nutritious diet. They were also treated for difficult diseases like Cancer. They started talking freely about their problems and hence we were able to address their problems on time.
Some of the training programs are listed below-
  1. Sheep rearing, Fertilizer from Earthworm manure.

  2. Use of anti infectants in farming, farming of medicinal herbs, vegetable plantation.

  3. Preparation of varieties of snacks.

  4. Stitching and fashion designing.

  5. Handicraft items like greeting cards, artificial flowers.

  6. Sale of ready made items like bangles, uniforms.

The above training programs coupled with the success they got in their small scale businesses raised the confidence level of the women. They started interacting freely within groups and they were also able to overcome the stage freight.
Through "Anyaaya Nivaran Samiti" the problems related to exploitation got addressed and the women started getting the advantages of counseling.
