"It has been established through surveys and studies that most of the diseases of the respiratory system occur in the village women due to smoke getting generated in the kitchen. Traditional Stove (chulha) which is normally made of sand vents the smoke in the kitchen itself. A specially designed stove which burns the fuel with adequate air, its distribution at Proper places surrounding the fuel and a chimney to carry the smoke outside the house would be the right solution.
Traditional fuel like wood, waste, leftover in the field also could be burned efficiently. In addition to the reduction of smoke, it also eliminates the discomfort of the woman working in the kitchen. With the help of Aarti (An organization who has developed the smokeless stove) we have successfully installed more than 40 stoves so far.
